Sumana Gururaja Rao

Sumana Gururaja Rao is a child, student, and parent counsellor with 15+ years of experience working closely with families in school and community settings. She holds a Master’s degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy and supports parents in understanding their child’s emotional world, behaviour, and developmental needs.

Her counselling is guided by Carl Rogers’ person-centred approach, creating a safe and respectful space where both parents and children feel accepted and supported. She works with younger children, older children, and adolescents, helping them build emotional awareness, confidence, and healthy coping skills.

Alongside this, Sumana partners with parents, offering compassionate guidance to strengthen parent-child relationships, navigate everyday challenges, and respond to their children with patience, clarity, and confidence. Her work focuses on nurturing connection, resilience, and emotional balance within the family.
